Blogmas Book Quote | Ring Out, Wild Bells

Hello! It’s time for one final Blogmas Book Quote in 2018. Today’s quote comes from the poem Ring Out, Wild Bells by Alfred Lord Tennyson, which is found in A Vintage Christmas.

I love how this quote really captures how so many of us are feeling on December 31st!

“Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.”

~ Alfred Lord Tennyson, Ring Out, Wild Bells

Happy New Year! Here’s to an amazing 2019! 🥂🎉

Blogmas Book Quote | A Christmas Inspiration

Blogmas Book Quotes

Hello! It’s time for another Blogmas Book Quote!

Today I’m sharing a lovely little quote from LM Montgomery’s short story, A Christmas Inspiration.  It is one of the stories featured in A Vintage Christmas, and it has been one of my favorites from the entire collection that I’ve read so far.  It is such a sweet story about giving and thinking of others, especially about those who often feel forgotten, and it just warmed my heart while reading it.

“How lovely the world is,” said Jean.

“This is really the very happiest Christmas morning I have ever known,” declared Nellie.  “I never felt so really Christmassy in my inmost soul before.”

“I suppose,” said Beth thoughtfully, “that it is because we have discovered for ourselves the old truth that it is more blessed to give than to receive.  I’ve always known it, in a way, but I never realized it before.”

“Blessing on Jean’s Christmas inspiration,” said Nellie.  “But, girls, let us try to make it an all-the-year-round inspiration, I say.  We can bring a little of our own sunshine into Miss Allen’s life as long as we live with her.”

~ LM Montgomery, The Christmas Inspiration

Thanks for reading! 💚❤

Blogmas Book Quotes | The Gift

Blogmas Book Quotes

Hello everyone! Today I’m back with another Blogmas Book Quote!

Today’s quote comes from The Gift by Cecelia Ahern.  This quote may be short, but to me, with Christmas only one week away, I feel like this quote is an especially prevalent reminder of just how precious this time of year can be.

“Time cannot be packaged and ribboned and left under trees for Christmas morning.  Time can’t be given.  But it can be shared.”

~Cecelia Ahern, The Gift

Blogmas Book Quotes | Laura Ingalls Wilder

Blogmas Book Quotes

Hey everyone! One of my favorite Blogmas series I do on my blog is Blogmas Book Quotes, where I share a Christmas-y themed book quote, and it is back!  I did this last December and I also did did something similar in October, except they were all fall/Halloween themed.  I just love looking for festive quotes! I always get in such a Christmas-y mood when I read them.

Today’s quote is not from a book, actually, but it is from the author of the Little House series.  When I saw this quote, I just fell in love with it and had to use it, even though it’s not technically from a book, that I’m aware of.

“Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmastime.”

Laura Ingalls Wilder

What’s one of your favorite childhood, Christmas memories? I would love to hear them!

Blogmas Book Quotes | Midnights

Blogmas Book Quotes

Happy New Year’s Eve!  Today, I wanted to share this quote from Rainbow Rowell’s short story, Midnights.  While I read this quote, it reminded me of the new beginnings that a new year brings.  Life is full of adventure and changes, but that doesn’t mean you have to do it alone.

“I’m not going anywhere, Noel’
‘You are,’ he said, squeezing her.’And it’s okay. Just… I need you to take me with you.”

“Happy Anniversary, Mags.”

“Happy New Year, Noel.”

Blogmas Book Quotes | Anne of Green Gables

Blogmas Book Quotes

Hello! It has been snowing so much the past few days.  Where I live, it has been transformed into a winter wonderland.  So, when I came across this little passage from Anne of Green Gables, it reminded me of how magical snow truly can be!

anne blogmas quote.jpg

Christmas morning broke on a beautiful white world. It had been a very mild December and people had looked forward to a green Christmas; but just enough snow fell softly in the night to transfigure Avonlea. Anne peeped out from her frosted gable window with delighted eyes. The firs in the Haunted Wood were all feathery and wonderful; the birches and wild cherry trees were outlined in pearl; the plowed fields were stretches of snowy dimples; and there was a crisp tang in the air that was glorious. Anne ran downstairs singing until her voice reechoed through Green Gables.

“Merry Christmas, Marilla! Merry Christmas, Matthew! Isn’t it a lovely Christmas? I’m so glad it’s white. Any other kind of Christmas doesn’t seem real, does it?”

~ L. M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Are you dreaming of a white Christmas this year?
